EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in business, management, marketing, or agriculture preferred
EXPERIENCE: One or more years sales experience required. Perishable commodities backgrounds a plus
REPORTS TO: Sales Manager
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Works cooperatively with the Sales Support Specialists and the accounting department to process transactions accurately and efficiently and to assure the timely collection of accounts
· Coordinates company product deals and / or programs – including selling inventory
· Builds long-term customer relationships and provides top customer service
· Strives to meet customers’ needs in every possible way
· Looks at customers’ needs and coordinates the implementation of packaging ideas, as well as future Company opportunities
· Builds long-term supplier relationships and provides the best possible service to meet the suppliers’ needs; acts as a “Deal Manager” when assigned
o Develops a sales plan (in advance) within the team to coordinate customer placement, prices, communication, product movement and trouble settlement
o Sets the product price while approving any exceptions – including all adjustments (trouble and price)
o Ensures product is placed with strategic customers
