Location: Palm Springs, CA Area

Salary: $85,000

Education: High school Diploma Minimum. Must possess a minimum of high school diploma, general education (GED) or equivalent education.

Experience: 2-3 year experience as a harvest supervisor

Active Pesticide Control Advisor License

Must be able to read and understand pesticide labels, PCA recommendations and 1080’s

Must have the desire to learn new skills.

Knowledge to understand various tools.

Ability to multi-task.

Bilingual preferred.

Must be computer literate.

Valid driver’s license.

Reports To: Farm Manager

Overview: The principal duties of the Pest Control Advisor Field Man will be focused on but not limited to walking fields, identifying issues, determine best means of control and planning, coordinating, and supervising pest management. This position will also be responsible for identifying growers, get them on contract to ship and sell their citrus products.

Primary Duties:

Oversee all field inspections and generating Pest Control Reports

Oversee and coordinate all chemical applications for crop impairment mitigation.

Track and record all chemical spray activities on internal farm management software

Oversight of all Harvest crews, both internal and external

Coordination of daily harvest of all citrus and date crops

Facilitate all information regarding harvest between Management, Accounting and Contractors.

Work with other Team Members on daily/weekly/monthly timeframe to provide optimal schedules. Emphasis on “staying ahead” in information to effectively plan through any potential issues.

Manage/Track harvest forecast with Packing / Sales daily harvest updates.

Maintain steady communication with Growers regarding operational requirements, and proactively communicating any/all potential lapses.

Ensures that crews meet all the SOP’s of BMP

Ensures that employees have proper PPE

Coordinates adherence to all Food Safety Regulations.

Oversight of daily documentation like field tags, food safety, IPP

Ability to manage and supervise others

Promote safety in the workplace

QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to operate a computer

Able to follow BMP’s

Ability to travel to various California Citrus Districts

Ability to travel to various California Citrus Districts

 (Available if needed 24/7 for business emergencies)

Effective bilingual communication in Spanish and English with emphasis on accurate translation.

Strong Communication skill via: phone, email, direct person

Methodical and analytic thinking critical to planning/preparing production based upon ever changing weather-related events

Ability to work independently and as a team member

Able to maintain confidentiality

Must have valid driver license
