Location: Woodland, Ca Area

Salary: $200,000

Education: Minimum BS/BA degree, an advanced degree, such as a Food Processing Engineer or MBA, is preferred.

Experience: At least 15 years of experience with plant operations, 5 in a lead position as Vice President or executive level.

Excellence in organizational management with experience and ability to manage and develop high-performance teams and develop and implement business strategies.

Deep experience in budgeting and fiscal management.

Experience leading organizational transformation projects and business development.

Past management experience of diverse activities with a large group of employees.

Experience with quality programs and data-driven business evaluation.

Food processing industry and/or agricultural commodities experience is required. Specialty Food along with a diverse background is a plus.

Experience effectively implementing and utilizing information systems that create operational efficiencies and better information is highly valued.

Work experience within both small and large organizations is preferred.

Job Description: The VP of Operations plays a key strategic role as a business partner to the management team charged with implementing best practices needed to support the organization’s growth in dry grain processing, milling & packaging, and ready-to-eat grain applications.
The VP of Operations will need to organize and lead the manufacturing and supply chain team which includes inventory management to meet the needs of our diverse customers by fostering an environment of performance excellence. 
The VP of Operations will partner with peers in sales, finance, culinary, human resources and food safety & quality assurance to achieve the goals of the company. The VP of Operations is a member of the corporate management team and will provide operating and strategic leadership for Operations in accordance with policies, goals, and objectives established by the CEO.
The VP of Operations is a key contributor to the strategic planning process. Day to day responsibilities includes, but are not limited to, production planning and scheduling, productivity, process, and mechanical engineering, maintenance and repair, equipment specification and OEM vendor sourcing and selection, supply chain (purchasing, grower relations & logistics), manufacturing (Parboiling, Blending, Cleaning & Packaging). As a senior member of management, the VP of Operations will also be expected to participate in, and contribute to, company-wide planning and budgeting activities as well as other cross-functional initiatives requiring manufacturing input or assistance from time to time. 
IQF/Copack/Retort and/or co-manufacturing experience is a strong plus.

Experience with creating, documenting and controlling system-wide operational processes including Lean Manufacturing best practices.

Essential functions and responsibilities: Provide day-to-day operational leadership and management to support the mission and core values of the company. Lead the operational team to achieve and surpass operational goals, profitability, cash flow, and overall business objectives. Partner with Food Safety & Quality Assurance to maintain A+ BRC ratings at our CA facilities in line with our “Quality First” model. Partner with Culinary and Technical Services to deliver product innovation to our customers Responsible for the measurement and effectiveness of all our operations processes internal and external. Provides timely, accurate and complete reports on the operating condition of the facilities and team under your supervision. Spearhead the development, communication, and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes for Operations in alignment with the organizational strategic plan. Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, product development and personnel designed to accommodate the rapid growth objectives of our organization. Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the company. Motivate, lead and retain a high-performance operational team Lead and collaborate on capital planning and execution to enable the company to meet growth and market share objectives. Direct and participate in acquisition and growth activities to support overall business objectives and plans. Partner with sales leaders, culinary and technical services to support customer needs including maintaining a high level of urgency for problem-solving and a systematic approach to maintain and enhance our unique value proposition. Develop, establish, and direct execution of operating policies to drive consistency and efficiency in meeting our customer expectations.
