Location: Hayward, CA Area

Salary: D.O.E.

Experience: Prior experience in USDA/FSIS with at least 3 years; working in food manufacturing.

A qualified candidate must: 

Self-motivated with proven leadership skills.

HACCP, SQF, FSMA or PCQI certified is a plus.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, HS equivalent math skills.

Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Bilingual - English/Chinese/Spanish is beneficial.

Must be able to work in a team environment.

Must have a positive attitude.

Must have good written and oral English communication skills.

Ability to work in fast-paced, effectively under pressure, and deadline-oriented environment.

Flexible with work hours; we work night and weekend shifts that may require QA Manager to oversee. (8 to 10 hours per day).

Summary: The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for the quality, food safety and aesthetics of the product. The QA Manager follows through on set processes and ensure adherence to good manufacturing practices (GMP), food safety, BRC or Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards and product quality standards. Supervises the QA Tech, assigns responsibilities and duties for the QA Tech to adhere to all quality and food safety controls.

Job Responsibilities: 

Responsible for overseeing QA Tech, all employees GMP, all product food safety and quality.

Responsible for monitoring and programming critical control points (CCP). Reassess HACCP programs as needed, or at least annually.

Responsible for monitoring and product food safety and quality throughout the manufacturing process.

Responsible for performing sanitation verification and allergen testing on equipment and other areas required.

Responsible for the accurate recording and filing of all relevant record logs and Documentation.

Ensures the correct recipe guidelines for products are met during processing.

Ensures employees are following all Food Safety and worker safety practices.

Ensures and educates employees on food safety and BRC/SQF standards, conduct GMP training for new hires, routine GMP training or at least monthly GMP refresher training for all employees.

Responsible to issue disciplinary action when necessary.

Collect product samples for Product Development, R & D samples, retaining on-going products for quality & shelf life studies, and submit products for laboratory collection when directed.

Perform inspections on Products, Equipment, and Machinery.

Perform on-going program verifications, validations like label cooking instructions.

Primary contact in all 3rd party food safety audits, or customer audits.
