Job Function: The Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for helping with the implementation and sustainability of the GFSI (BRC) food safety and quality processes. This position will be responsible for helping with the auditing and training to the BRC standard. This position will routinely interface with the Quality Services (QS) Manager and other managers and supervisors as needed regarding BRC compliance. In order to plan the sampling, grading, testing and processing of products according to USDA standards and/or Companies in house specifications the position interfaces with the QS Manager and production management. The QA Supervisor will direct QC Tech personnel in coordinating QA Department functions in order to provide accurate and timely quality data to the production department. The QA Supervisor interface with the Production Supervisors will affect coordination between the two departments to meet quality specifications and efficient production. The QA Supervisor is responsible for insuring the proper documentation and storage of quality records. This position reports to the QS Manager.
Daily coordination of Quality Department tasks with Production Supervision.
Coordinate the efforts of QA Tech personnel and provide specific guidance and evaluations.
Conduct and coordinate the training of personnel in Quality Control practices.
Compare data and product specs in order to direct corrective actions.
Audit in-process production lines, as well as final packaging lines in order to provide Quality Assurance.
Communicate observations and recommendations to the QS Manager, and Shift Supervision.
Audit Critical Control Points in order to provide Quality Assurance.
Audit sample collection, analysis, and documentation of analysis according to PIQ/FMO, KFI and customer specifications.
Insure the completion and documentation of corrective actions when product is out of specification.
Review and approve PIQ documentation and forward to QS Manager for final approval.
Supervise/direct the sanitation staff and perform sanitation audits.
Review all BRC documentation for proper completion and report findings to QS Manager.
Help with auditing, training and document control in accordance to the BRC standards.
Lead by example by following all Safety rules and enforce them.
