Summary: The Sr. Director will act as a General Manager, and split his or her time between 50% business development and 50% executing day to day strategy. The principal focus will be evaluating the global competitive market place and pursuing opportunities to grow and expand the tomato and puree business.
Develop the global business strategy for the BU with input from Ag Operations, Manufacturing and Sales teams from each origin as well as guidance from senior management
Identify global opportunities to grow both organically and through acquisitions
Track and update the global supply and demand balance sheet for the products handled for all major producing origins and consuming markets. Inputs derived from this study should be used to guide operational sales and crop planning and business strategy.
Track and manage global product price position risk and inventories to maximize margins and keep exposures within agreed norms developed together with the Risk Div. in Singapore
Conduct regular business environment scans to determine the potential impact of macro-economic, climate, technological, and political variables on the business
Track industry dynamics and competitive activity to keep tabs on pricing changes, new entrants, and threats from substitutes.
Track changes in buyer and supplier behavior to determine potential impact on the business and take suitable action to harness opportunities /meet challenges
Work with members of the regional sales teams to:
Develop annual sales plans
Develop operational strategies to secure strategic objectives opposite each customer
Determine pricing and rebate structure for each critical customer
Provide periodic market and pricing updates based on global environment and competitor scans and product S&D analysis to guide sales effort
Provide input to sales on slow moving tight SKUs to enable appropriate follow up by the sales team to modify buyer behavior
Further penetrate the foodservice and industrial segments
Work with sales and technical service and Ag teams to assist in:
Expand existing and establish new contracts with growers globally
Provide inputs for crop and production planning for subsequent seasons
Oversee activity of two manufacturing facilities and one co-packing facility.
Travel expected, less than 20%

Ensure operations plan is in line with business strategy
