Location: San Jose area

Salary: 90,000k 120,000k

Report to: President/CEO and has two subordinate reporting to the position

Education: Bachelors and/or Master’s Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting. The degree should be obtained from a well-recognized university.

Experience: 5+ years’ experience in managing accountants and the accounting and finance process. 5+ years in a position equivalent to a controller or higher responsibilities, preferably in the Food Manufacturing or Pharmaceutical industry.  

·          C.P.A. is preferred but not requiredERP Implementation and management experience, preferably with Sage X3

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for direct supervision of all accounting and financial functions. Primary responsibilities include supervision of the monthly close process, supervising accounts payable and accounts receivable, payroll, reporting for the President and management team, , annual preparation of a budget, assist in the preparation of quarterly tax projections and annual tax return preparation and all treasury administration. The Controller will also be part of a team that creates and implements policies and procedures to identify, resolve and document accounting issues in addition to creating procedures to make the close and reporting processes more efficient and accurate.  This position functions as the Finance department manager (includes employee development) as well as manages the company’s ERP (Leader in implementation, maintenance & improvements)

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Preparation of annual budget Responsible for weekly budget meetings Preparation of work papers supporting the annual tax return Coordinate the preparation of annual tax return with outside CPA firm Implement a process to record transactions by department and compare costs incurred to budget and performance analysis of profit centers Review and recordation of journal entries required to reflect the monthly activity Preparation of work papers supporting the monthly close process and month end balances Review monthly accounting close process including analytical review of the monthly operating results to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained Preparation of monthly financial statements and related footnotes Preparation of the year to date cash flow Perform cash projections to effectively manage cash balances and maximize the return on any excess cash balances Supervise the  semi-monthly payroll process Manage company 401(k) Plan Supervision of all accounts payable and accounts receivable Implementation of corporate policies and procedures such as invoice processing, cash management and calculation of fees Implement, document and maintain adequate and effective internal controls Implement, document and maintain adequate and effective processes to improve the close and reporting cycles to ensure timely and accurate reporting Responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations Responsible for the supervision and development of subordinates Accurate and timely production of all financial information Proper analytical review of the asset operations from a balance sheet, income statement and cash flow perspective as well as an overall business perspective Oversee and lead the company's ERP System

o    Reporting Oversee employee benefit plans along with HR Manager, with particular emphasis on maximizing a cost-effective benefits package Maintain in-depth relations with all members of the management team Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profile. Monitor all open legal issues involving the company, and legal issues affecting the industry. Maintain appropriate insurance coverage. Establish and maintain banking relationships. Establish and maintain relationships with CPA’s, attorneys, insurance brokers and any other outsourced third party.
